POINTE CLASSES

Pre- Pointe:  This beginner level is for students who are preparing to dance on pointe.  Students will be working on demi-pointe until allowed to dance on pointe.   This class will stress correct alignment and correct classical ballet technique as well as strengthening exercises at the barre, centre and with the Thera-Band.   Students should have at least 3 years of consistent ballet training and should be taking a minimum of 2 classes/week.

 

Pointe 1:  This class is for those who have been assessed and approved for pointe by the teacher.  All exercises will focus on building strength in the ankles and feet at the barre.  For your safety, all participants must of taken the ballet class directly prior to this class to ensure they are fully warmed up.

 

Pointe 2:   This class is a progression from the previous level where students will be able to build their strength at the barre and in the centre.  For your safety, all participants must have taken the class directly prior to this class to ensure they are fully warmed up.

 

Pointe 3:  This class is designed for experienced dancers who have been training for at least 2 years on pointe.  Barre and centre exercises will be taught.  Dancers at this level maybe be able to wear their pointe shoes in regular technique classes but at the discretion of the instructor.   For your safety, all participants must have taken the class directly prior to this class to ensure they are fully warmed up.
